Nigerian Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic surgeons (NAPRAS).

The Nigerian Association of Plastic, Reconstructive and Aesthetic Surgeons (NAPRAS) is the association of the Plastic and Reconstructive surgeons trained in the acts of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery and practicing in Nigeria. The Association brings the specialists together for the purpose of furtherance of the practice of Plastic Surgery.

We are the umbrellar association of Plastic surgeons who train/practice the act of plastic surgery in Nigeria.

What is Plastic Surgery? Plastic surgery is the branch of surgery involved with correction of defects (loss of tissue) and deformities (appearance is different from the normal) of the human body. As such, the specialty is not limited to any particular part of the body, but is defined more by the techniques it uses.

To correct these defects and deformities, the plastic surgeon calls upon his knowledge of the structure of the body, and how it heals itself. Using various methods of transferring tissue, occasionally using nonliving material, lost tissues are replaced and form is improved. This skill in shaping the body can be used for improving both form (aesthetic or cosmetic) and function (reconstructive).
